So so good ❤
The way she holds the nob is not that good (trying to be polite ahh), cause you actually don’t have any possibility to direct you poi. The idea is to hold the nob inside the hand, and to give to the rope to go out throw the first finger’s loop, and to close it with the thumb . Be sure you can direct 100% of you poi directions, and after it hold your poi the way you decide to
I love this 💖 so creative and magical 🤩 wow amazing 🤩
awwww thank you!
AMAZING 😍🤩 I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS 💗
sxy
I'm doing poi lessons at my school!
NZ IS NICE
Yo NZ team
Such a vibe! ❤
This was so beautiful and powerful. I haven't been able to allow such selfcare and softness in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing your energy with the world ♡
Wow thank you so much for giving this a try and for sharing your experience <3 We are so so glad this resonated with you! Lots of love and care - Kate from SpinPoi

Yes they are playing with poi as part of a community event at the Mt Roskill library for all ages and abilities to come together through whanaungatanga and celebrate poi as taonga Māori
Fabulous ❣️
This is great
Thank you Niels! Love what you are doing with ND Juggling and beyond 🙌
I love these talks!!!!
So glad to hear this! We will keep them coming :)
I thought it was awesome, love the intention of it being used for regulation - looking forward to see how you develop more songs/movements.
Appreciate the feedback Jesse, and looking forward to developing more!
You two have the most beautiful souls. Thank you for the inspiration and joy!
Awesome video! So informative. Great!
I love this soooo much. Even watching it helped me relieve stress and anxiety. I am looking forward to trying it out with my Poi tomorrow morning. Thank you!
I am so glad to hear that Honora! It's actually great feedback that even just watching it felt calming.
I can appreciate it’s a video for both physical and mobile, but could have picked batter music the elevator has more oof 😅
Love this! Thank you Kate and Simon (@deep.feeling). Especially like 'feeling the weight of the poi" and "relaxing into that sensation". Feeling connected with the earth/Papatūānuku.
Thank you Kia Ora Tai Chi! We are glad you like it - Simon did an awesome job guiding the wording/phrasing.
Tomorrow mark a whole year since my dad passed and I received an email just now from you guys through my dad’s email which I login my fone just to look at his emails while alive. He was living in New Lynn but he was a part of the this association. I missed him so much 😢😭
Thank you for sharing and I am so sorry your dad is no longer with us. We are sending you and your family lots of love on this one year anniversary. Ka heke te roimata me te hūpē, ka ea te mate.
Ka mau te wehi / awesome. Loved it. Thank you.
Your energy is absolutely amazing. Thanks for the great video
Aw thank you so much!
Whoa! How did you get the ai mini video in the top right?
Hi Anna, I just filmed it twice, and made the sitting video smaller and moved it to the corner 👌🏽
What workshop space is Annabelle talking about?
The Unleash Space workshop 😁 It's in the same space as the university CIE Start-Up Studio. It's a wonderful place filled with lots of really awesome machines that are free to use. Students & staff can just wander in and learn a bunch of new skills and do loads of prototyping. 😁😁 There are creative technicians wandering around to help you out with using machines if you get stuck or to bounce ideas off of, and people are really lovely and encouraging there! 😊
🥰This was so insightful and heart-warming to watch. Thank you both for sharing and all the effort that went into this ❤
Hi! First timer here, just learning today. I got the first variation first try, and then I could do the variations in each hand, but then when I go to cross them over I hit myself in the back of the head haha what am I doing wrong!
Hey so excited you are giving poi a try! Woooo! I think the problem you're having is likely due to the angle of the poi when you are uncrossing them...if they are hitting you in the head it means they are not flat by your sides, but kind of angled behind your back instead. I would try focusing on keeping them on as straight/flat a plane as possible when they both cross and uncross - this might involved standing next to a wall to get a sense for what is flat, adjusting the position of your arms slightly when they cross (relaxed arms is best, make sure you aren't holding tension in your shoulders or holding your arms too high). You might have to work one hand at a time for a while to really drill the muscle memory. If you're still having trouble after a bit more practice let me know!
What ever your doing just keep doing it over and over and over and over and over and over again. Eventually the pain in the back of your head will go away and you wont be afraid to hit your self any more.
great
Thank you!
Omg u were in KC!??!
I was!
@@SpinPoi I hope u come back in town. We have a very lively club EDM scene. Lots of flow toys use
Kate your appearance has changed much....
Make sure y’all are putting that rice into a plastic bag before putting it into that ankle sock because it starts to smell real bad, real fast 🙃

Hi Kate, We did some research into juggling at the Department of Ergonomics at Loughborough University, UK. I was filmed juggling - occasionally dropping(Ha! Ha!). The video on playback showed that, largely, what made a more skilful juggler was not that they could throw the ball parabolically “plumb” into the receiving hand consistently - hence fewer drops, but that the skilful juggler may still throw erratically from time to time, yet that skilful juggler could adjust the position of the catching hand to rectify any imprecision from the throwing hand. The less skilful juggler could not rectify poor throws by such good adjustments to catch so consistently. The takeaway was that skilful jugglers (and by extension, other practitioners) could rectify mistakes better - not that they didn’t make mistakes. Just thought I’d share. Brilliant vids - the best!
This analysis fails in music, where a wrong note is a wrong note.
Hey thank you so much for sharing this with me, and for doing this research! Always wonderful to have more research on circus arts and flow arts, and your findings are fascinating...I might incorporate them into some of my presentations about poi and health, where I often reference studies on juggling and other related arts :) Awesome work!
Please do! @@SpinPoi Maybe I should send you a paper I wrote on reaching out to criminal gangs in Haiti through the arts!
@@billbrookman923 yes please do! kate@spinpoi.com
Started spinning poi when I turned 40 last April. It is very challenging at first but each bit of progress builds skills that allow more growth. The evolution of one’s skill set is a direct reflex of the internal changes that takes place in the body (facia, muscles, nerves, brain, etc) so it is truly a transformative practice.
Shes so hawt
She has tiny legs
😱 Promo-SM
Very cool.
It's amazing idea! I would like to spread your this love for poi and healthbeeing conections. Do you have already some applications in Europe? (France or Poland)
Help spreading the joy of poi would be great! I do have some instructors working in Europe, you can see toward the bottom of this page: www.spinpoi.com/certifications Feel free to email me with any other thoughts or if you'd like any more info :)
Kate is such a City person.
What's with the man-bashing? Sheesh. Can't we just love the art for what it is...?
